OMS St. Ursula, led by Headmaster Olivier Mermod, embarked on a major renovation project to transform a former dormitory and student residence into a modern educational facility.
The school faced a common challenge in modern education: how to create learning environments that can evolve alongside teaching methods and student expectations. Traditional classrooms with fixed screens and permanently installed technology limited flexibility and often prevented teachers from adapting spaces to different learning situations.
At the same time, the school wanted to introduce new technologies and more immersive learning experiences while maintaining simple and practical classroom workflows.
With students coming from different backgrounds, learning levels, and interests, the school needed technology that could support a variety of teaching approaches without adding complexity for teachers.
The goal was to create adaptable learning environments where technology would support education rather than dictate how spaces should be used.
During the planning process, OMS St. Ursula selected Artome as a flexible audiovisual solution that aligned with the school’s vision for future learning environments.
Artome’s mobility immediately changed how teachers could use their classrooms. Instead of relying on fixed screens and predetermined teaching positions, educators gained the freedom to move the system wherever it was needed and adjust learning spaces according to each lesson.
The solution also enabled the school to introduce modern educational technologies more effectively. Teachers can connect their own devices directly to Artome, making it easy to display digital content, presentations, videos, and interactive learning materials without complicated setup procedures.
According to Olivier Mermod, flexibility has become one of the most valuable benefits of the solution. Teachers can quickly adapt the size of the projected image, move the device between spaces, and create immersive learning experiences that were previously difficult to achieve with fixed installations.
The school also uses Artome beyond traditional classroom teaching. The system supports teacher conferences, collaborative activities, and presentations in different locations throughout the building. Rather than bringing participants to a fixed room with installed technology, the technology can be brought directly to where it is needed.
For students, the benefits are equally visible. Large-scale visual content, immersive presentations, and interactive learning experiences help increase engagement while supporting different learning styles. Students also recognize the flexibility of the solution and how easily it adapts to various learning situations.
Today, Artome plays an important role in OMS St. Ursula’s vision for modern education by providing technology that supports flexibility, mobility, and innovation without limiting how teachers choose to teach.
• Flexible learning spaces without fixed AV limitations
• Easier adoption of modern educational technology
• Large-scale immersive learning experiences
• Quick device connectivity for teachers
• Adaptable screen sizes for different teaching situations
• Support for classrooms, meetings, and conferences
• Greater freedom to use learning spaces creatively
